An update has been provided on a burst pipe in County Durham which caused water to shoot out onto the road and into passing vehicles.
Northumbrian Water confirmed its crews were on site at the leak on Tuesday (December 2) at the junction of the A68 and Consett Road in Castleside, near Consett.
Durham County Council said it was made aware of the leak at 8pm the previous evening and erected a cordon for the public's safety and to help the flow of traffic.
Images and videos showed water shooting high out of the pipe, onto the road and into oncoming vehicles.
