NEW YORK CITY, New York — Actress and women’s-health advocate Halle Berry sharply criticized California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday, saying his repeated vetoes of a menopause-care bill disqualify him from consideration as the “next president,” the San Francisco Chronicle reported .
Berry spoke at the DealBook Summit in New York, and singled out the governor’s decision to reject the Menopause Care Equity Act (AB 432) for a second year in a row.
The bill directs the National Institutes of Health to conduct a comprehensive review of all existing and ongoing research on menopause, perimenopause and midlife women’s health.
