It’d be inaccurate to say the Lions ‘ postseason hopes would be completely dashed if they lose to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, but their chances would take a critical hit if they can’t win at Ford Field this week. Currently, according to the New York Times’ Playoff Simulator , the Lions have a 30% chance to finish as one of the NFC’s top seven teams. A win lifts that percentage to 45%. A loss makes it plummet to 13%. Lions coach Dan Campbell isn’t monitoring the conference’s standings each week, he said, but he’s keenly aware of the shrinking margin of error his team faces.
