An Upstate New York teacher has been accused of exposing students to “pornographic” images.
WWNY reports American Center for Law and Justice sent a letter to the Watertown City School District threatening legal action over a 7th grade art lesson at Case Middle School. In September, educator Bridgette Gates allegedly sent her students a link to the Keith Haring Foundation website that included sexually explicit imagery, including cartoon-like interpretations of sex acts and the dismemberment of a penis.
According to Artnet , Keith Haring was known for his work in pop and street art, as well as a prominent gay rights and HIV/AIDS activist. Gates’ assignment reportedly called for students to interpret and sketch two artworks from the artist; his website includes a link to a “Kids” site f
