During its Dec. 4 meeting, the San Antonio City Council approved 11 nominees for the new Multimodal Transportation Commission , with an office term that will expire May 31, 2027.

According to city documents, the commission was created on May 8 and will act as an advisory body that will make recommendations and offer input on transportation-related projects and city codes.

The commission is comprised of 13 members and includes representatives from each City Council district and appointees from VIA Metropolitan Transit and the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization. The commission will advise on:

Updates to transportation-related plans and city codes

Metrics and benchmarks for safer mobility systems

Exceptions to the city’s Complete Streets Policy
