The Yuma County Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of more than two dozen vehicles as part of the county’s ongoing Fleet Management Program, a system officials say has improved efficiency, standardized replacement schedules and produced long-term cost savings.
The three items on the consent agenda authorized the Public Works Department to replace 20 aging county vehicles across multiple departments.
The purchases followed the county’s process of soliciting quotes from Arizona state-contract dealerships as well as Yuma-area dealers – a practice officials say ensures fairness and encourages local participation.
