PROVIDENCE — Providence men’s basketball pushed aside any upset bid in the opening minutes.

The Friars made their first four shots against Fairleigh Dickinson and built a 31-point lead before the halftime intermission. Jaylin Sellers and Providence couldn’t miss in the first half of the non-conference blowout win downtown on Tuesday night.

Sellers finished with 21 points and Jason Edwards had a game-high 24 as Providence rolled to a 94-64 win in front of 6,285 at the Amica Mutual Pavilion. The Friars (5-4) join the state’s rivalry week next as they welcome Rhode Island on Saturday at noon.
