A powerful cold front is moving across the country, bringing bitter cold wind chills to parts of the U.S. tonight. The arctic air is already filling into the Midwest and Great Lakes and will continue to move east into Friday morning.
Many spots around the Midwest and Great Lakes are already feeling the cold air. Record low high temperatures are expected from Missouri to the Great Lakes, with parts of Michigan and Wisconsin only warming up into the teens and 20s for a high.
Temperatures will plummet tonight, as temperatures fall 20 to 30 degrees below normal. Lows will range anywhere from the teens to below zero Friday morning from the Great Lakes to New England. Record low temperatures are possible from Illinois to the Northeast.
