The state’s only professional women’s golf event is moving to the Hartford Area.
The Hartford HealthCare Women’s Championship , which had been held at Great River Golf Club in Milford since 2023, will be contested at the Golf Club of Avon for the next three years. The announcement was made on Thursday.
Tournament festivities will kick off with Women’s Day on July 21, and a pro-am on July 22. The event will run from the 23rd through the 26th.
The event, part of the LPGA’s Epson Tour , will see a purse increase over the next three years, with $250K in prize money next July, $275K in 2027 and $300K in 2028.
The last three winners of the event have all gone on to earn their LPGA Tour cards, including last year’s winner, Gina Kim .
