A poll of 2,000 adults found that 32% admitted their knowledge of astronomy is lacking. According to the survey, four in ten Brits (38%) have no idea what a supernova is, and one in 100 even think Earth has rings around it, like Saturn and Uranus. Meanwhile, six in ten wouldn’t be able to identify popular constellations like the Plough or Orion's Belt.
