One of Sarnia’s hubs is now the Nest.

A youth drop-in program led by Sarnia-Lambton Rebound in space at St. Luke’s United Church opened about eight years ago as the Hub, providing safe space for youth ages 12 to 24, along with services and connections to local social service agencies.

The drop-in, which recently received a new coat of paint and other sprucing up thanks to community funding, held an open house Wednesday to mark the name change.

It was initiated to address confusion created by the use of the word hub in the names of other agencies and initiatives.

“Everything is ‘the Hub,’” said Rebound executive director Michelle Holbrook.

“I mean, it’s a great name . . . it just got to that point where everyone was confusing us” with others, she said.
