Thousands of children’s sports tumblers sold nationwide are being recalled due to a choking hazard linked to a defective part.
The manufacturer, HydroJug, issued a fast-track recall of its 14-ounce children’s sport tumblers after 656 reports that rivets on the cup handles came loose, allowing handles to detach and pose a choking hazard.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission posted the recall Dec. 4, saying about 17,000 tumblers are affected.
According to the CPSC, the recalled tumblers — sold in Cowgirl, Daisy Checkers, Dinosaur, Sport and Bows patterns — either bear serial number 235010 on the bottom under the rubber boot or have no serial number at all.
