A judge sentenced a Portage woman to 20 years Thursday for helping her husband, who gunned down the other driver in a car wreck with her earlier that day.
Angelia Cross, 48, pleaded guilty in October to conspiracy to commit murder, a Level 1 felony.
The victim’s family did not attend the brief hearing.
“I just apologize,” Angelia Cross said in court.
Court filings show she admitted she went to a home in the 4100 block of W. 22nd Plaza in Gary where she told family about the crash.
She then drove her husband, Billy Cross, a block away where the victim, Kylin Bursey, was with his girlfriend and children.
