REHOBOTH BEACH — Delaware’s iconic famous pizza chain is under new ownership after Grotto Pizza founder Dominick Pulieri quietly sold the business to a group of longtime employees.
Grotto Pizza’s majority owners are now its President Jeffrey Gosnear and Vice President of Operations Adam Webster. Chief Financial Officer Frank Albero and Human Resource Director Glenn Bryum bought a minority stake in the company.
Terms of the deal, which was finalized in the spring, were not disclosed.
Gosnear told the Delaware Business Times that the deal was a two-year process due to the web of business and liquor regulations at the state level, as well as the landlords and vendors Grotto Pizza had to navigate across its tri-state footprint including Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
