CHURCH HILL — Morristown East’s girls racked up another lop-sided victory Tuesday night, rolling to a 75-31 rout of host Volunteer for their sixth victory.
The Lady Hurricanes had another great start as they scored the first 14 points and led 27-7 at the first rest stop.
East had nine steals in the first period alone and turned most of them into easy baskets. The margin ballooned to 52-16 at halftime and Coach Justin Combs’ once-beaten team coasted to the victory.
Senior Hannah Hall poured through 25 points to propel the East offense. Freshman Molli Stuffle was right behind with 24 and had five steals in the first eight minutes. Fellow freshman Kennady Phillips added 15 points and raked off 11 rebounds.
