Srinagar- Black bear sightings in Srinagar continue to make headlines as the animal was spotted near Nigeen Lake on Wednesday, following earlier appearances at NIT, Kashmir University and SKIMS.
The Wildlife Department has launched a full-scale operation to safely capture the bear. Teams from the Central Kashmir division, assisted by wildlife personnel brought in from other districts, are actively on the ground.
Drones are being deployed to track the bear’s movements from above, while tranquiliser guns and short firearms stand ready for emergencies, reported news agency KNO.
