LONGVIEW, Texas — State Sen. Mayes Middleton told East Texas Republicans on Wednesday that his noted conservative record as a legislator will define his tenure as the state’s attorney general if elected.
“I’m only here to serve and fight for the conservative values that we believe in,” he said.
Middleton, R-Galveston, spoke Wednesday at the Jalapeno Tree restaurant in Longview during a forum hosted by the Republican Party of Gregg County. He said he feels called to serve as the state’s top law enforcement official, where he’ll continue to protect women’s privacy, religious freedom, parental rights and more.
