Cornerback Darius Slay, who was released by the Steelers after he was a healthy scratch in Sunday’s loss to the Buffalo Bills, is contemplating retirement.
The Bills claimed the six-time Pro Bowler off waivers Wednesday, but he will not report to the team, agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“Slay is honored that a first-class organization like the Bills claimed him, but he is going to take some time away from football right now and decide in the next few days if he wants to keep playing,” Rosenhaus said.
The Philadelphia Eagles also put in a waiver claim for Slay, the NFL Network reported, but the Bills had the higher spot in the waiver priority order.
