CANYON COUNTY, Idaho — Three people have been arrested in connection to an alleged drug smuggling operation at the Canyon County Detention Center.

The Canyon County Sheriff's Office announced on Thursday that two inmates and an accomplice are facing felony charges as part of a "coordinated effort" to bring methamphetamine into the women's jail .

Authorities said information regarding an upcoming attempt to introduce meth into the Dale Haile Detention Center was first uncovered on Nov. 19, prompting the sheriff's office to launch a surveillance operation.

The outside accomplice, identified as 41-year-old Joshua Taylor of Caldwell, was reportedly seen placing a bag in a "secluded area" outside the facility's laundry facility. Deputies recovered 4.5 grams of meth and replaced the dru
