PEPPER PIKE, Ohio -- Chavone Taylor Nash has been officially elected to a seat on the Orange Board of Education.
The results of the automatic recount held Wednesday (Dec. 3) by the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections matched the official vote totals of the Nov. 4 election, said Brian Cleary, ballot services division manager for the elections board.
Those totals had been released at the election board’s certification meeting Nov. 25.
That means that Nash collected 1,939 votes (22.4 percent), giving her a 15-vote edge over fellow challenger Julie Lawrence for the third seat on the school board.
Lawrence’s final official tally was 1,924 votes (22.2 percent).
