PIERRE, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - On Thursday, Attorney General Marty Jackley announced the start of Phase 2 of the National Operation Robocall Roundup, issuing warning letters to four telecom companies to stop routing illegal robocalls.
Jackley is one of 51 Attorneys General in the Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force.
The task force was formed in 2022 and aims to put an end to illegal robocalls.
The telecom companies Inteliquent, Bandwidth, Lumen, and Peerless are being directed to stop transmitting suspected illegal robocalls across their networks.
The task force sent warning letters to 37 smaller voice providers that were allowing suspected illegal robocalls on the network back in August.
