A sergeant with the Gulfport Police Department was put on the other side of the bars when arrested in Tennessee on charges of driving under the influence and carrying a weapon while under the influence.

WLOX-TV reported that Joseph Prine Jr. was arrested early Wednesday morning in Gatlinburg by deputies with the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office. He was originally listed on the sheriff’s office’s jail docket but has since been removed, meaning he’s bonded out.

In addition to DUI and carrying a weapon while under the influence, the 33-year-old cop was charged with violation of open container laws.

The station reported that Prine was in Gatlinburg for a law enforcement training session and was driving his patrol car when pulled over and placed in handcuffs.
