There were no casualties in this sweet battle.
Stratford’s Jessica Pett went head-to-head with a fellow confectioner Thursday morning on Breakfast Television, coming up with a Christmas-themed cake creation for the show’s first Bake Master Battle .

“I had a lot of fun,” she said afterwards. “I didn’t win, but it was a blast.”
Pett, who owns Sweets by Jess, answered the Canada-wide call for applicants to appear in the segment. Hundreds applied, but Pett’s video of a Halloween cake she recently made caught the attention of producers. After a brief interview, Pett landed one of two spots on the show.
The other contestant was Danya, a nurse from Saskatchewan.
“It was a really nice experience,” Pett said.
The pair baked their cakes the day before and had 70 minutes
