WASHINGTON D.C., DC — Dog food sold in 14 states is being recalled because it may be contaminated with plastic, posing a choking hazard for pets.
Fromm Family Foods is recalling 300 cases of its Bonnihill Farms BeefiBowls Beef Recipe frozen dog food after discovering potential plastic contamination, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Wednesday.
The voluntary recall affects 16-ounce “gently cooked” frozen chubs with a best-by date of Dec. 25, 2026 and lot code B01.
The product was distributed through neighborhood pet stores across more than a dozen U.S. states, including Illinois, Wisconsin, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Louisiana, California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, Washington and Alaska, as well as in Ontario, Canada.
