Wolverine Worldwide president and chief executive officer Chris Hufnagel took to the stage to accept the Company of the Year honor at the 2025 Footwear News Achievement Awards in NYC on Wednesday.

“This award means the world to us,” Hufnagel said as he accepted the award from actor Jeff Daniels. “I’ll be first to admit this is a very big stage for our company. It’s an honor to be here, and I’m privileged to accept this award on behalf of our 3,000 associates around the world .”

In his remarks, the CEO admitted that like most century-old companies, Wolverine Worldwide had its own share of good times and tough times.
