University Heights Mayor Michael Dylan Brennan has barred mayor-elect Michele Weiss from entering any city building or property except for properly noticed meetings.
He also told directors, chiefs and employees to not meet with her until Jan. 1, 2026. Brennan issued the order in a Dec. 3 email to Weiss, which communications and civic engagement director Mike Cook later released to the media.
“You are not yet the mayor,” Brennan said in the email. “You have no business contacting employees of this city and telling them – as you did today – that they are fired as of the new year. You do not have this authority until after you are sworn in as mayor on or after January 1, 2026.”
