OXON HILL, Md. — Police arrested a man connected to a shooting at the MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino that left a 23-year-old man dead Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Prince George's County Police Department, 22-year-old Benjamin Williams has been charged with the murder of Darnell Hawkins Jr.
Officials say 23-year-old Darnell Hawkins Jr. was shot and killed while ordering food at the casino’s food court just before noon.
When officers arrived, they found Hawkins on the ground. He had been shot multiple times and died at the hotel and casino.
Investigators later identified the accused gunman as Williams. He was arrested 14 hours later in College Park and charged with first- and second-degree murder and additional charges.
