The Coronado Coffee Company (CCC) has been a staple at the Ferry Landing for years, where the unassuming “cart” welcomes regular customers and visitors to Coronado. Coronado local, Luis Madrid, has owned and managed CCC since 2020. Before that, he ran Café Madrid outside of Bay Books, starting when he was 19, so he’s no stranger to the business.

“We like to be different,” Madrid said of CCC. “You can get coffee anywhere else, but we value our customers and the experience, and that is what we strive for. When people come to us, it’s not just a cup of coffee; you get the whole dysfunctional family experience. We could be laughing, arguing, but your coffee will be made with love, and customers love that. We even let them be part of our conversations.”
