MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Sauk County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday a Reedsburg man was sentenced in October for one of the largest cocaine seizes in the county’s past two decades.
Jaoshua Alberto Vargas-Sanchez, 29, was sentenced to 15 years in the prison.
In August, Vargas-Sanchez pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit possession with intent to deliver cocaine.
Investigators said evidence showed the Reedsburg man was not a cocaine user and he imported the drugs for his own financial gain.
During the investigation, the Sauk County Drug Task Force and U.S. Postal Inspectors worked together and intercepted a package that had one kilogram of cocaine. This amount of cocaine is worth about $100,000.
