WILLIAMSON — A mistrial has been declared and a change of venue will be considered in the trial of a man accused of shooting and killing a West Virginia State Trooper in Mingo County.

Timothy Kennedy, the man charged in connection with the June 2023 shooting death of West Virginia State Police Trooper Cory Maynard that lead to a multi-county manhunt and even halted high school graduations, has had a mistrial declared Thursday following a four-day jury selection process. His trial, which was set to begin Monday, has been delayed again as Judge Joshua Butcher considers a change of venue request. Legal Affairs
