After an impressive comeback season in 2025, Auburn kicker Alex McPherson has received the Capital One Orange Bowl-FWAA Courage Award, an award presented by the Football Writers Association.
It comes after McPherson played in every game during the 2025 season after missing all but one of Auburn’s games in 2024. He will be officially presented with the award during the Orange Bowl on Jan. 1, 2026.
“It’s hard to put into words,” McPherson said in a release. “It’s been an awesome year. From the beginning of the season, not even knowing if I’m going to be able to play the full season, to having the decent season I had, and to be able to come back and play with my guys on the team, this award is kind of the cherry on top.
