Detroit — The Detroit Pistons' 13-game winning streak ended in a loss to the Boston Celtics on Nov. 26. Since then, the Pistons have won two of five games. They are still leading the Eastern Conference with a 17-5 record but their recent performances have raised concerns.

Regardless of the Pistons' situation, coach J.B. Bickerstaff has emphasized that success begins and ends with defense. His words proved valid during their 13-game winning streak. While holding opponents to an average of 112.3 points, the Pistons ranked sixth in defense, with a net rating of 110.1.
