WASHINGTON — "So You Think You Can Dance" finalist Donyelle Jones died Tuesday after a yearslong battle with breast cancer. She was 46.

The announcement was made on her social media where friends, colleagues and fans remembered her.

"A wife. A daughter. A sister. A friend. And a warrior who kicked cancer's ass every single day she was here. Her spirit never dimmed. Her heart never hardened. And even in the storm, she never lost her smile," a post to her Instagram page said.

Jones, also known as Donyelle Denise Wilson, had been battling breast cancer for about a decade. She documented her journey on social media, using the hashtag #GIWMA , which stands for "God is with me always."

She was diagnosed in 2016 with Stage 3c breast cancer. The National Breast Cancer Foundation defines
