It’s not called show business for nothing.
In the NBA, if you don’t’ show up, you get fined.
The league dropped a $250,000 fine on the Cleveland Cavaliers Wednesday, Dec. 4 for violation of the Player Participation Policy, accusing the team of flouting the rule last week in back-to-back games against the Los Angeles Clippers (Nov. 23) and Nov. 24 against the Toronto Raptors .
The player involved: guard Darius Garland . Garland played against the Clippers in a locally televised game while the team held him out against the Raptors, a nationally televised game, violating the NBA policy.
The team was fined $100,000 in November after Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley sat out a nationally televised game.
