TEMPLE, Texas — Temple College is set to receive a $9.8 million grant to construct a new semiconductor manufacturing facility in Taylor, Texas, Governor Greg Abbott has announced.

According to the Governor's Office, a $9.8 million Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund (TSIF) grant has been extended to the college for a new Central Texas Chips Hub in Taylor.

Temple College is now reportedly the second higher education institution in Texas to receive a TSIF grant.

According to the Governor's Office, Temple College and Texas A&M University-Central Texas are partnering to build the Central Texas Chips Hub to "connect more Texans to the skills training needed for rewarding careers in semiconductor manufacturing."
