LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It’s been one month since a UPS cargo plane crashed shortly after taking off from the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, killing 14 people and injuring 23 others.
Two wrongful death lawsuits have been filed in connection to the crash.
The lawsuits allege that UPS, GE Aerospace, Boeing and VT San Antonio Aerospace were negligent in maintaining the aircraft.
“We believe that the failures that led to this crash were failures that could have been prevented, and should have been prevented and this plane should have never been air-worthy to be in the air that day,” said Bradley Cosgrove, Clifford Law attorney.
Both UPS and FedEx grounded their fleets of MD-11 planes shortly after the crash on Nov. 8.
