The 1990s were a monumental decade for the city of Indianapolis and beyond. The city added a new fieldhouse, the Circle Centre mall and one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL.

Willy T. Ribbs became the first Black driver to qualify and race in the Indy 500, saying, "I'm glad to make history, because it'll only be done once. When it's all you've ever wanted to do in your life, it's very satisfying," according to the IMS Museum.
