The Frederick County Planning Commission on Wednesday night unanimously tabled a proposed residential rezoning for a development near Lake Frederick with up to 830 residential units following a public hearing that brought up numerous concerns.

The project, Madison 277, seeks to rezone 149 acres along Fairfax Pike (Va. 277) near Dinosaur Land from Rural Areas (RA) to Residential Planned Community (R4) for a mixed-use development with four land bays. Two of the land bays would be solely residential, one would contain a mix of residential and commercial, and the other would be open space with no housing.
