PHOENIX — A man is facing several felony charges after Phoenix police responded to multiple reports of carjackings on Dec. 1.

Court records show Johnny Valdez, 36, was taken into custody after an alleged crime spree took place in multiple parts of the Valley.

The situation began when Gila River police responded at about 2:30 p.m. to reports of a "possible kidnapping." About an hour later, Phoenix police responded to the area of 51st Avenue and Baseline Road after a person reported having their Ford F-150 truck stolen by an armed carjacker.

Records show the male suspect and a woman entered the truck and drove off. At about 3:50 p.m., Phoenix police responded to another reported carjacking.

The second incident involved a mother who was driving her three kids home from school in the area
