NEMAHA, Neb. (KOLN) - One person died following a two-vehicle crash in southeast Nebraska Wednesday.

At 3:57 p.m., the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Highway 75 and 726 Road, south of Auburn in rural Nemaha County.

According to the sheriff’s office, a northbound Lincoln MKC, driven by 41-year-old Shawna Harkendorff of Falls City, Nebraska, crossed into the southbound lane of Highway 75, colliding into a southbound Freightliner semi-truck driven by Andrey Shagaliyev of Winkler, Manitoba.

Harkendorff died at the scene, and Shagaliyev was transported to the Nemaha County Hospital for treatment of possible injuries. Seatbelts were in use by both people, the sheriff’s office said.
