Penn State’s regular season did not go as planned. Once ranked as high as No. 2 nationally, the Nittany Lions finished 6-6.
But it was impossible to overlook the play and production of two fourth-year players – senior running back Kaytron Allen and redshirt junior guard Vega Ioane.
Both Lions were named first-team All-Big Ten selections on Thursday afternoon.
Allen was a first-team choice by the conference’s coaches and media.
Ioane was a first-team media pick and a second-team coaches selection.
Allen emerged from a timeshare with teammate Nick Singleton halfway through the year to put up dominant numbers.
Allen finished the regular season with 1,303 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns en route to become Penn State’s all-time rushing leader.
Allen ran for a career-high 226 yards
