Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in New Delhi on Thursday for a two-day State visit, marking an important chapter in the long-standing India–Russia strategic partnership. Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally received President Putin at the Palam Technical Airport, underscoring the significance India places on the bilateral relationship.

A Grand Welcome and Symbolic Gestures

PM Modi greeted President Putin with a warm embrace upon his arrival, setting a cordial tone for the engagements ahead. The two leaders then travelled together in the same car, a strong gesture reflecting the closeness between the two nations. From the airport, they proceeded directly to 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, the Prime Minister’s official residence, where further interactions were scheduled for the evening.
