UNION CITY, Indiana — A Randolph County man who teaches at a school in Ohio has been arrested on preliminary child seduction charges.

According to a release from the Union City Police Department , an "extensive" investigation began into a teacher at the Ansonia Local School District, located in Ansonia, Ohio about 9 1/2 miles east of the Indiana/Ohio border, following allegations of inappropriate conduct with a student.

The 56-year-old Union City man was not only a current teacher with the school district, but also a former golf coach. Police say he was identified during the investigation as having engaged in sexual contact with a student-athlete on "multiple" occasions dating, as far back as 2012.
