EAST LANSING – A sprained right wrist resulted in Cam Ward missing a college game for the first time.
The Michigan State freshman forward doesn’t plan on spending another day on the bench this week.
“When these type of games come up,” Ward said after practice on Thursday night, “you’re probably going to do whatever you can to play.”
No. 7 Michigan State (8-0), which already has a trio of wins against ranked opponents, continues its brutal nonconference schedule by hosting No. 4 Duke (9-0) on Saturday (noon, FOX) at the Breslin Center. Ward, who missed Tuesday’s 71-52 win against Iowa, is expected to return to the lineup.
