NAMPA, Idaho — It's official –– the Ford Idaho Center now belongs to the College of Western Idaho.
The College of Western Idaho (CWI) Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Thursday, Dec. 4 to approve the conveyance of the property.
The center, which has undergone an extensive approval process, drew split opinions from residents amid claims of the city's underutilization and budget constraints.
The 90-acre property includes an area, amphitheater and horse park, and is a popular space for community organization and events. CWI said in a news release that the park will continue to host public events like concerts and rodeos while "expanding academic programs and hands-on learning opportunities" for its students.
