Dad Craig Jupe was tragically killed

A man has been jailed after a reckless action resulted in the death of a dad-of-two. Craig Jupe was tragically killed after another car hit his vehicle.

Toby Carter, 23, previously pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving in October at Exeter Crown Court and was sentenced today, Thursday, December 4.

The court heard how in October 2023, Carter had been driving downhill on the A380 Hamelin Way towards Kerswell Gardens when the VW Golf he was driving crashed into the central reservation and barrel rolled onto the opposite side of the carriageway and into the path of an oncoming vehicle, driven by Mr Jupe, DevonLive reports.

Tragically, Mr Jupe, who was aged 40 at the time, suffered catastrophic injuries and died at the scene.
