New Delhi has been placed on high alert as a comprehensive, multi-layered security grid goes into effect ahead of Russian President Vladimir Putin's arrival on Thursday (December 4) evening for a two-day visit to India. Police officials said the location of his stay remains undisclosed for security reasons.

From the moment the president lands until departure, every movement will be closely monitored by multiple security units operating in tandem. "Minute-to-minute coordination is underway, and all concerned agencies have been instructed to maintain maximum vigilance throughout," a senior officer said. Over 5,000 police personnel will be deployed to ensure constant surveillance.
