CLEVELAND — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine will visit Cleveland Clinic on Friday to present the hospital with a grant of nearly $1.5 million for pediatric cancer research .

The funding is part of a program in the state's biennial budget meant to help improve detection and treatment of cancer in children. Cleveland Clinic is receiving the largest individual gift, with grants also going to four other hospitals and nonprofits:

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center ($1.48 million)

Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital ($1 million)

Dayton Children's Hospital ($589,000)

Maple Tree Cancer Alliance ($386,000)
