A teacher for the Paterson Public School District is facing criminal charges over accusations that he sexually assaulted an elementary-aged student inside a classroom.

Paul Yang, 32, of Leonia, was arrested on Wednesday on charges of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement issued Thursday.

Yang is employed as a teacher at Public School No. 25 in Paterson, authorities said. A person with the same name is listed as a fourth-grade teacher at the K-8 school on the district’s website.
