LAS VEGAS – Henry Cejudo met the media Wednesday ahead of his fight at UFC 323.
Cejudo (16-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) takes on Payton Talbott (10-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) in a bantamweight bout on the main card Saturday at T-Mobile Arena (pay-per-view, ESPN2/FX/Disney+, ESPN+). At media day, Cejudo took questions from members of the press corps before his fight.
Cejudo is a former dual champion at flyweight and bantamweight. He retired in 2020 and relinquished the 135-pound title. He unretired three years later and got a title shot against then-champ Aljamain Sterling and lost. His follow-up was a loss to current dominant champ Merab Dvalishvili, and he lost a technical decision to Yadong Song in February.
But this time, he swears his retirement is for real … except for the part he said he'd come back for a fight against former champ Brandon Moreno, whom he still apparently harbors a grudge against.
Cejudo implied that even if he wanted to unretire a second time, UFC CEO Dana White never would allow him to go down that road again.
